Caught

Hi friends.  Today I'm popping in to share a Valentine card with you.  The image and the sentiment inside the card are both from Deedee's Digis.  They have a progressive monthly challenge at Deedee's Digis, which sounds like a lot of fun.  The January digi set is free, so it's easy to get started.  I gave the penguin googly eyes for a bit of extra whimsy.

Here you can see where I added some "shine" to the water.

• Today marks the third anniversary of my daughter's community outreach ministry!  
• Our little electric fireplace.  It sure warms our home well on a chilly night.

Stacked Hearts

Hi friends.  Life took some unexpected turns and kept me from posting for awhile and from visiting other blogs too.  I'm hoping to get around to visit my blog friends this week.

My mom sent me the materials and instructions for making the hearts on this card.  She said her friend cut the hearts on a Cricut.  I stacked four hearts for this card.  I kept the card simple, because I wanted the hearts to have all the attention.

Here's a close up of the hearts.  Thanks for making it possible for me to make these fun and beautiful hearts, Mom.  I really enjoyed making them.

Red Friday

Here in America many wear red on Fridays to symbolize their support for our troops. Operation Write Home, the organization that sends handmade cards to our Heroes to send home to their families and friends, is asking us to take Red Friday one step further and show our support on our blogs. I'm proud to be a participant of Red Friday on my blog.
This photo was in the news recently and really touched my heart. The four year old little girl in the picture is holding her daddy's hand, because she doesn't want him to go back to Iraq. We need to remember not only our heroes that are serving all over the world, but also their families as they are courageously going on with life at home while their husband, daddy, son, brother, or boyfriend is away serving. Let's remember to pray for our heroes and their families each day.
This is a Valentine card I made that will be sent through Operation Write Home. I'm not one to make cards way ahead for a season, so I'm learning to do that as I make cards for our heroes to use. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks after all. :)
