Flutterby Day

Here's my card for Danni's Flutterby Challenge #59. This week's challenge was to use eyelets or brads and a butterfly or fairy on the card. My inspiration for the card design came from a card I received from my friend, Netta. The butterfly is embossed with iridescent sparkle embossing powder, but it doesn't show well in the photo.

Supplies:

Stamps: Butterfly- unknown

Paper: Mica Stardream

Ink: Encore Ultimate Metallic Purple

Accessories: Stylized Flowers Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, SU Ticket Corner Punch, SU Word Window Punch, Flower Eyelets, Iridescent Sparkle Embosssing Powder

These are pictures of my beautiful daughter, Lydia, dressed up to attend the dinner where she received her award from Avon for making the President's Club again this year. I'm so proud of you Lydia!!! And you looked gorgeous for your dinner. : ) You can purchase Avon online from Lydia here. Email Lydia on her website to get a coupon for free shipping.

Blessings

  • A phone call from my sister
  • Extra family time this summer
  • A visit from a friend
  • A gorgeous butterfly on my back porch that was a species I've not seen before

Have a terrific day!!!

Inky hugs!

Double Bubble Trouble

I hope your week is off to a good start. Our's is. We are having rain again today. We are so thankful.

This card is one I made awhile back and haven't shown yet. I love the House Mouse stamps. The are so much fun. You never know what those little mice will do next. I also own several House Mouse prints that I have framed and matted. Two large ones are hanging in my kitchen.
Here's a close up view of the House Mouse portion of the card. I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils, gel pens, and Tombow markers. I put a thick coat of Crystal Lacquer over the "glass" dome of the gumball machine to give it depth and shine.

Stamps: House Mouse - Stampa Rosa; Mouse Paw Print - Stamps by Judith; Sentiment - unknown
Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils; Tombow Markers; Gel Pens; Crystal Lacquer; Sizzix Tag Set Die; Ribbon
Blessings

  • A wonderful pasta recipe my dh came up with just for me to fit with my food restrictions
  • Dh got the soaker hose he needed at a garage sale brand new in the package for $1

All Dressed Up

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here on the Treasure Coast of Florida. I hope you're enjoying some beautiful weather in your corner of the world too.

I had to make sure my mom had received this card before I could show it and then I forgot about it. This is the card I made for Mother's Day for both of our moms. I saw a similar card in a SU Portfolio long before Mother's Day and knew that was what I was going to do. Many thanks to my dh for his help with making the pattern. I was feeling really bad on the day I made the cards and even a simple pattern like this seemed overwhelming to me to make. Mark came to my rescue! The only stamping on the card is the little corsage on the lapel and the sentiment inside the card. Now that I look at this picture I wish that I had thought to ink the edges of the cardstock, especially on the lapels. Hindsight is always 20/20. : )
Blessings
  • Our first fresh watermelon of the season....Yummmm
  • Peace about an important decision
  • A loving husband that cares about even the little things in my life
  • Happy Mail : )
Have a fabulous day!!!
Inky hugs!

Having a Blonde Moment

In my case I have to claim I'm having a brunette moment when I do something dingy. : ) I like to stamp humorous cards. They're just plain fun to do. I stamped this card well over a month ago. Unfortunately I don't know who any of the stamp or paper manufactuers are. I used Tombow markers and Prismacolor pencils to color the image. If you enlarge the photo you can see that the copper pieces are stamped pennies.

Blessings
  • Extra prayer time today
  • Groceries from a friend - she brings us the things her family won't eat.
  • A pretty flowering tree is growing behind our house where I can see it from my stamping desk
Have a terrific day!!!

Inky hugs!

It's Flutter By Day Times Two

This is my card for Flutter By Challenge #57 at Danni's Dreams. I've noticed that the cards I've been making lately with pastel cardstock don't photogragh well. They look kind of faded or foggy. But I don't have a photo editing program on this computer, so I guess they will have to do. It gives you the general idea anyhow. You can enlarge the photo to see the details better if you want.

My friend, Julianne, made the beautiful Flutter by for me. In the photo below you can see the detail better and also the glitter on it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Flourishes - Autumn Leaves, Spatter - My Paper Moon, Sentiment - The Rubbernecker Stamp Co.

Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Pretty in Pink SU

Paper: Bazzill Cardstock

Accessories: Crystal Stickles, Gem Flowers
Update Added: I use my spatter stamp from My Paper Moon nearly every time I stamp. I noticed that Becky has it on sale for only $1.25. Check it out along with her other great sale stamps here.

This second Flutter By card is for last week's Flutter By challenge #56 and for a garden challenge on one of the Yahoo groups I belong to. I intended to skid in at the last minute and post it yesterday, but I accidently deleted the photo from my computer, so had to wait until this morning to take another picture. (My camera doesn't take decent close up photos after about 2:00p.m.) Last week's challenge was to make a card inspired by a gorgeous photo that Danni had taken and posted on her site. This card isn't at all what I had planned. But when I received a package of stamped images from my friend, Jennifer, and saw this image that so closely resembled Danni's photo I just couldn't resist using it.

Here's a close up view of the image.

Supplies:

Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Tombow Markers, Gel Pen, Paper Piercing Tool, Fiskar Border Punch

Blessings

  • Much needed rain last night
  • A visit with a friend today
  • Happy Mail from my mom
  • Some extra time with my husband while he's between college classes

Have an awesome day!!!

Inky hugs!

Puttin' on the Glitz!

Happy Mother's day to all the mom's out there, especially my mom. :) I hope you all are have been remembered in a nice way today. Lydia and Mark both spoiled me with gifts earlier in the week, because neither one of them could wait until today once they had purchased the gifts. lol
Today we had a nice lunch together, which Mark fixed. Then we watched "Hotel for Dogs", which I have been wanting to see, and ate homemade cupcakes that they made for me. I feel very blessed to have such a loving family.

Today's card is made for the Technique Challenge on Becky's blog My Adventures in Stamping.
I thought the technique was beautiful and just had to try it. I had alot of fun doing it. Becky told me to substitute Sharpie markers for the Copic markers called for seeing I don't own any Copics and they worked just fine. I'll be making some more of these.

Blessings

  • My loving family
  • God's guiding hand to keep me on the right path
  • Good music to listen to

Have a fabulous day!!!

Inky hugs!

Pretty Pastels

Back around Easter time I started to make a card for a challenge that called for pastel colors and realized that I didn't have much to choose from in pastel cardstock. Shortly after that I found an excellent buy on some pretty pastel cardstock and since then I've been enjoying having the option of making pastel colored cards. The butterfly stamps used on this card are a gift from my friend Shellie. She knew I was looking for some new butterfly stamps and sent me these as a surprise. I used the Poppin Pastel Technique on the butterflies.

Here's a closer view of the butterflies. Aren't they beautiful stamps?

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin Up

Ink: Versamark Watermark Ink Pad

Accessories: Chalks, SU Word Window Punch, Brads, Coluzzle Oval Template, Edger Scissors

Blessings
  • Caring friends
  • A phone visit with my mom
  • Time to spend praying
  • Laughter

Have a fabulous day!!!!
