Ink: Nick Bantock Deep Turquoise; Archival Ink Sepia; SU Creamy Caramel
Paper: Unknown
Accessories: Scor Pal; Prima Flowers; brad

It's Flutter By Day

This card is made for the Wednesday Flutter By Challenge at Danni's Dreams. Today's card was supposed to have orange and yellow on it. My butterflies are painted with Twinkling H2O's. I don't know who makes the butterfly stamp. The sentiment stamp is made by Heart and Soul Rubber stamps. Sue at Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps also has some lovely butterfly stamps. They are on my "to purchase" list next time I have some mad money. : ) The yellow butterfly on my card is 3-D. I added a second picture below that shows the dimension a little better. A long while back I saw a card like this made by Chris Smith and I've wanted to make one ever since. I'm sorry I don't recall where I saw it to add a link.

Most of you are probably already aware of this, but LuminArte, the company that makes Twinkling H2O's, is going out of business. It's so sad to see another great stamping related company closing. They having a 40% off going out of business sale if you want to stock up on their products while you still can. http://www.luminarteinc.com/

Did you know that they make orthopedic nose pads for glasses? I didn't until I ended up with some. The other day while I was waiting for the eye doctor I asked the optician to put some soft nose pads on my glasses. They felt fine and I didn't look in the mirror until I got home. They are the longest, thickest, most ugly nose pads I've ever seen and I've been wearing glasses for about 33 years. These babies are practically bigger than my glasses. lol And of course I've had to go several places since then and I haven't had a chance to get the nose pads replaced yet. But I must say they are the most comfortable nose pads I've ever worn. Why is it that comfort and ugly often go together? It's usually that way with shoes. : )

Blessings
  • Mark found some unused pads of Little Sizzles paper at a garage sale for $0.25 each. It's not the latest design, but it fits my needs and budget.
  • The beautiful birds in my yard. I enjoy them so much.
  • An adult daughter who is also my friend. We have alot of fun together. : )
Have a marvelous day!!!!
Inky hugs!

Twice as Mice

Hello Friends
Sorry about disappearing off the radar. I tore my cornea and the light from the computer made it more painful, so I avoided the computer for awhile.

Today's get well card is pretty straight forward. I used Prismacolor pencils, chalk and gel pens to color the image. I used my Scor Pal to score the edges of the white card stock. My SU Word Window punch made the tabs at the bottom of the card. I love my SU punches. There are a couple more I'd still like to get some day.

Supplies:
Stamps: Town Mouse by Inkadinkado
Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Light blue -Bazzill; Striped - Basic Grey; Others - unknown
Accessories: Scor Pal, SU Word Window punch, brads, Prismacolor pencils, gel pens, chalks

Blessings:
  • Good health insurance
  • A very caring and helpful husband
  • Books on tape
Have a fabulous day!!!

The Right Shoes

I LOVE shoes! I don't have nearly as many as I'd like to have, because my foot is a bit hard to fit, I get torn between comfort & style, and shoes cost money. lol Being that I love shoes, I also enjoy shoe related stamps. The two strips of paper on the ds are gold. The cardstock that the saying is stamped on is edged with gold ink. The shoe has a little gem stone adhered to it with gold glitter glue.

Supplies:
Stamps: Shoe-Vap! Scrap; Saying-Unknown
Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Encore Gold
Accessories: Gem Stone, Gold Glitter Glue

Blessings:
  • Mail from some special friends
  • My incredible husband and daughter
  • An answer to prayer today
  • Fresh, clean linens. They feel so good. : )
Have a fabulous day!!!
Inky hugs!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

I had to show you how our dogs are spending this cold evening. That's my grand dog, Caesar, in the top photo and my little Princess in the bottom photo. They are both wearing shirts, plus are happily bundled in blankets while lounging in the living room. Do you think they're pampered?

A Flutter By Card

When I spoke to my sister on the phone the other day she asked me if I took part in any of the online challenges and I told her no. I also told her that I had lost my creativity since my surgery. I have someone special that I need to make a card for, so I decided to use one of my favorite challenges to try to jump start my creativity. : ) I made a butterfly card for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge at Danni's Dreams.

Besides having a butterfly on it, today's card was supposed to have pink on it too. The photo of my card isn't very good, but it's the best I could do with my camera at night. The pinks on the card are prettier in real life. Also, the card is cut at a slant on the top and has about an inch cut off the right, front edge so that you see the print on the inside of the card. My photo angle doesn't show that. Photography isn't my love, stamping is. lol Thanks to Bev Mantle for the card idea.

Supplies:
Stamps: Bold Butterfly Set -Stampin' Up; Happy Birthday -unknown
Ink: Big & Juicy Soothing Sunset; StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Pink -Bazzill; Gloss - Mac Paper; White - unknown
Accessories: pastel brads

We're expecting a record setting hard freeze here in our part of Florida tonight and a large part of the state. My heart goes out to the growers. Citrus, vegetables, plant nuseries, etc. They will all be fighting to save their lively hood throughout the night.

Please pray for my sister Sandy's family, especially her oldest son. They have had a very close relationship with his birth mom. Today they got news that his birth mom died unexpectedly. This will be hard for all of them as she was a loved member of their family.

Blessings:
  • A warm house & clothes on this freezing night.
  • Some very affirming words from a casual aquaintance about something that she didn't even know was bothering me. Thank you Lord!
  • Scrapbook & Stamping Magazines from a friend.
  • A letter from my mom. : )
Have a terrific day!
Inky hugs!

Back at Last

Hello Friends
I hope that there are still a few of you out there reading this after such a long absence on my part. : ) I didn't expect to be away quite so long. The recovery from my neck surgery hasn't gone nearly as well this time. But I'm holding out hope that all will be well in the end.

Seeing it's the beginning of a new month, it's time to show the calendar page for my calendar from Martha. It is shown in the picture below and is perfect for this month that has Valentine's Day in it. Here's a tidbit of trivia for you: My mom was born on Valentine's Day. My grandma said she looked like a little valentine with red hair and a heart shaped face. : )

I have another calendar to show off while I'm on that topic. This one is from my friend, Jacky and it arrived while I was laid up. Jacky is amazing. Every year she makes a new calendar for a
whole bunch of her friends. I know she puts alot of time and TLC into them. I really look forward to mine each year. Thank you very much, Jacky

Blessing in my life:
  • Mark had a few hours off today and we had some special time together.
  • Sonshine in my heart, despite a nasty day outside.
  • It's great to be back on my blog!
  • We had a fun family party last night, even though we didn't get the right channel to watch the Superbowl. : )
Have a fabulous day!!!!
Inky hugs!
